It has been a two long years, but Sloan’s Lake Park finally has an updated marina after a project to renovate it and other parts of the lake was recently completed.

During this project, which began in July 2010, the marina was stabilized and rebuilt. A jetty shoreline — a walkway that goes into the lake — was added, as were concrete walls and soft-surface walkways.

Lighting, plants along the lakeshore, more seeding, a reconstructed lakeshore multiuse trail, and a curving, elevated walkway along the marina shoreline with picnic tables were also added.

The $4 million project was funded by the Better Denver Bond Program, with some additional funds from Capital Improvements.
