Visual Arts: Cute but very, very thoughtful
Through Nov. 4. The look great in late August, and the unusually hot summer has brought the place to a peak we don’t see every year. An added bonus: the paintings of Margaret Kasahara, a Colorado Springs artist who uses American and Japanese pop art images to explore the idea of cultural stereotypes. Kasahara approaches her painting “seriously, yet with a wink and a light heart,” as she puts it. The work is full of colorful, kitschy fun, but it makes you think. Admission: $12.50 for adults, $9 for students. 1007 York St. 720-865-3500 or
