A man, about 49-years of age, has died in a hit-and-run incident Sunday night just south of City Park.
John White, spokesman for Denver Police, said there aren’t many details about how the accident happened, but said the man was a pedestrian crossing the intersection of 17th Avenue and Garfield Street.
At about 9 p.m., the man was struck by a vehicle that sped away.
The man was not identified, except by his approximate age.
Police are now looking for a dark-colored — possibly black — SUV that “should have a significant amount of front-end damage,” White said.
The vehicle was last seen speeding eastbound on 17th Avenue.
