LONGMONT, Colo.—A 15-year-old Longmont High School student accused of threatening to kill a classmate and bringing knives to school the next day has been charged.

The Longmont Times-Call ( ) reports the boy appeared in juvenile court Friday and was charged with attempted second-degree assault, menacing, possession of an explosive or incendiary device and possession of a weapon on school grounds, all felonies. He also faces a misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed weapon.

Police say the boy told them he brought the weapons to school Aug. 23 because he had been bullied, although authorities say they were unable to substantiate the claim. Authorities say he also had a small amount of bottle rocket powder in a vile with a fuse.
