MONUMENT, Colo.—Fire crews are responding to a blaze near Monument.

KRDO-TV (bit.ly/SnOoG4) reports that smoke is coming from Mount Herman and crews are trying to find the source.

The U.S. Forest Service is helping to investigate the fire.

Meanwhile, a small wildfire that burned about 3 acres in Big Thompson Canyon in northern Colorado was fully contained Thursday. Crews were still mopping up hot spots.

The fire burned on a steep slope above U.S. 34, one of the main routes to and from Rocky Mountain National Park.
