PUEBLO, Colo.—A storm has brought snow, rain and cooler temperatures to parts of Colorado.
It’s a welcome change after the hottest summer on record in Colorado and a busy wildfire season.
However the rain Wednesday also raised the risk of flooding in the area burned by the Waldo Canyon Fire, which destroyed 346 homes and killed two people in Colorado Springs. There also was a flood watch for a large portion of western Colorado. In Denver, an underpass on one bike trail was under three feet of water.
The Pikes Peak Cog Railway reports snow fell on 14,011-foot Pikes Peak. The National Weather Service had forecast up to 10 inches of snow in the eastern Sawatch mountains and western Mosquito Range above 11,000 feet.
