DURANGO, Colo.—Want a parking place in downtown Durango overnight? You might have to pay for that.

The city council is considering a proposal to sell a “hunting license” to drivers who want to look for an overnight parking space at a city lot.

According to the Durango Herald ( ), the council on Wednesday reviewed alternatives to encourage development of apartments above downtown businesses, but the city cannot guarantee a parking space every night.

Opponents say limiting the number of apartments is a better solution.
