FARMINGTON, N.M.—Farmington Daily Times Editor Troy Turner has resigned to accept a position in New York with the newspaper’s parent company.
The Daily Times announced () Thursday that Turner will serve as an editor at Thunderdome, an initiative by Digital First Media to provide international and national news content to its local newspapers throughout the country.
Turner served as The Daily Times’ top editor since 2006. He also served as the newspaper’s editor in 1999-2000.
John Elchert, publisher of The Daily Times, said the newspaper will miss his leadership.
The New York-based Digital First Media jointly manages ap and Journal Register Company, and runs more than 70 other daily newspapers and websites around the country, including The Denver Post, The Salt Lake City Tribune and El Paso Times.
