Three businesses in an Aurora strip mall were evacuated for about two hours Monday while a bomb squad identified a package that turned out to be a toy.
The suspicious package — described as a box the size of a cell phone box — was reported at about 2:30 p.m. after being found behind the strip mall at 14583 East Alameda Ave.
The box was wrapped in newspaper with electrical tape on two ends and a Comcast flag sticking out of it, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.
The Arapahoe County bomb squad responded and later identified the contents of the box as an air soft toy gun in a holster.
How the box got there is still unknown.
