Denver police announced Tuesday night that they have arrested a man they believed to be responsible for at least seven groping incidents in the Denver metro area.

Officers arrested the man Tuesday as a result of an under-cover surveillance operation conducted over the past several weeks, police said in a news release.

The name and date of birth of the suspect will not be released until his identity is verified. Police also said no mugshot is available at this time because the investigation is ongoing.

An underage girl allegedly was the latest victim of the serial groper on Sunday. That incident was reported Sunday morning in the 2700 block of East Wesley Avenue.

The area is just south of the University of Denver, but Lopez said the now seven confirmed incidents have been spread across Denver.

The first two believed to be linked happened on Aug. 21 on High Street at East Fourth and East Fifth avenues.

In all seven cases, the man was described as heavy set, between 20 and 30 years old. He is about 6 feet tall, bald and may be driving a dark-color Nissan Altima or Maxima with shiny rims and tinted windows.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
