Colorado Springs police say the suspect was chased down after the clerk saw a man steal two beers from a liquor store.
Investigators say the suspect took a swing at the clerk and the clerk fought back, hitting the suspect in the face and knocking him to the ground.
Authorities say the suspect’s injuries are not serious and the case is still under investigation.
