GREELEY, Colo.—Greeley firefighters say a pilot is uninjured after landing a single-engine plane in a freshly plowed field east of the Greeley-Weld County Airport.

Firefighters say the pilot reported that he began having problems shortly after takeoff Wednesday afternoon, forcing the unexpected landing. No fuel spilled, and there was no fire.

The pilot told firefighters the engine of the Beechcraft Bonanza had been worked on recently.
