DENVER—The mediator trying to resolve a dispute over funds for the victims of the Aurora shooting says he hopes to have rules in place in two weeks.
Kenneth Feinberg says he plans to meet with the victims over the coming weeks to decide how more than $5 million should be distributed.
Victims have complained they aren’t getting the money they need to deal with the tragedy. Feinberg told the Denver Post ( ) the money should be handed out with no strings attached to provide “a little less financial insecurity.” He called it “rough justice” and said no money can bring people back or heal the injured.
Former University of Colorado Denver, graduate student James Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and wounding 58 others in the July 20 attack.
