Denver is on the list of cities that will be part of T-Mobile USA’s initial rollout of 4G LTE mobile broadband service in mid-2013.
“First, we’re modernizing the network and improving it, and then we’re going to launch LTE,” said T-Mobile interim chief marketing officer Andrew Sherrard.
T-Mobile’s top officials, including recently appointed chief executive John Legere, gathered in Denver last week for promoting the company’s “challenger strategy.”
Sherrard spoke about T-Mobile’s plans to “shake up the industry” after the employee and reseller rally. While AT&T and Verizon Wireless are pushing subscribers to shared mobile data plans, the company believes its unlimited 4G data offering can be a game changer. The modernization of the T-Mobile network, expected to be completed early next year, will cover the Front Range and should reduce dropped calls and improve network data speeds.
