The man accused of trying to abduct a 13-year-old boy in Golden on Saturday night turned himself in and has been cleared of abduction charges, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced on Sunday.
The suspect — who had been driving a small, dark-blue four-door sedan, according to reports — turned himself in and “explained his actions,” the . No abduction charges are pending.
The incident happened in the 16600 block of West 2nd Avenue, near West Ellsworth Drive. Police had released a photo of the sedan after the mother of the son had taken a picture. The vehicle description matched one given in two earlier attempted abductions in September in Arvada. That suspect was also a white male, aged 20-40.
