Prosecutors have asked a judge to order Patrick Sullivan to undergo an offense-specific mental health evaluation, after the probation department said it needed more information to help treat the former Arapahoe County sheriff.

In April, and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 24 months probation. The 69-year-old violated his parole in July.

The latest motion, filed by prosecutors Monday, requests that Sullivan undergo the evaluation, which the probation department said could provide “vitally important therapeutic information.”

The filing cited the probation department’s concerns about Sullivan’s ability to “safely function and rehabilitate in the community.” The department also focused on and repeatedly mentioned Sullivan’s admissions to engaging in “dangerous sexual conduct.”
