PUEBLO, Colo.—A former Pueblo County sheriff’s deputy accused of holding an ex-girlfriend against her will is in custody following a manhunt in Elbert and El Paso counties.
Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor told KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs that 42-year-old Randal Scott Alire was taken into custody Tuesday in Elbert County ().
Investigators started searching for Alire after he missed a Pueblo court appearance Monday. The court appearance was related to his Oct. 1 arrest on suspicion of menacing with a deadly weapon and domestic violence after allegedly holding his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint.
Alire is on administrative leave from the sheriff’s department, where he has been employed since January 2011.
