It appears Broncos starting cornerback Tracy Porter will be cleared to face his former team Sunday night when Denver hosts New Orleans for the national NBC telecast.

Porter, who played his first four NFL seasons for the Saints before signing this year with Denver as an unrestricted free agent, was in full pads and participated in drills during the early portion of Wednesday’s practice at Dove Valley.

Because of a undisclosed illness, Porter did not make the trip for the Broncos’ Oct. 15 come-from-behind victory at San Diego. Denver is coming off a bye week.

On Monday, Porter returned to the practice field but was cleared only for noncontact work.
