ASPEN, Colo.—Pitkin County commissioners have set up an emergency assistance fund after money to help people with one-time emergencies ran dry.

The county is putting another $4,000 into the fund that is used to help people pay rent, utility bills, transportation and other necessities.

According to the Aspen Times ( ), the fund began the year with $45,000 and it has already run out. Most of the money has gone for rent assistance.
