DENVER—Gov. John Hickenlooper has signed an executive order making money available to help pay for fighting a fire that prompted evacuations in southwest Colorado.
Hickenlooper signed a disaster declaration Friday for the Roatcap Fire, which prompted evacuations of about 30 homes in Montezuma County after it started Wednesday.
The executive order says $250,000 from the state disaster emergency fund can be used to pay for fire suppression, response and recovery from the fire.
