Two people are recovering from gunshot wounds after they were shot early Thursday morning in southeast Denver near Logan Street and Louisiana Avenue.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital with wounds that are not life threatening, police said.

The shooting, , happened at about 2:35 a.m. as two groups of people got into a verbal argument, said John White, a Denver Police Department spokesman.

The verbal spat escalated and broke out into a fight, White said. One person then pulled out a gun and shot the victims.

One victims was hit in the arm and the other victim was hit in the stomach, White said.

No arrests have been made, and police are investigating.
