DENVER—Authorities have released the name of a 28-year-old man who was stabbed to death after leaving a bar near downtown Denver.

The Denver Post reports ( ) officers responded to the Capitol Hill area at about 2:15 a.m. and found Ryan Haldeman with multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.

Police, who have not offered a motive for the attack, describe the suspect as a 6-foot-tall black man between 20 and 45 years old, about 180 pounds and with salt and pepper facial stubble. He was last seen wearing a blue or black coat with white pants and was fleeing northwest through a parking lot and west on East 14th Avenue.

Haldeman had just left the Pub on Penn to catch a bus home.
