WESTMINSTER — A boy in Westminster says he is lucky to be alive after ended up less than two feet from him.

“I heard one gunshot. It was loud. And then I heard three more. I just got scared,” said Vicene Arvizo, 13, who was on the couch in the living room. “I stayed lying down until it was done and then I ran upstairs and woke up everyone.”

Early Wednesday morning, at 2:45 a.m. a Westminster Police officer conducted a traffic stop at Sheridan Boulevard and West 72nd Avenue. The officer got out of his car; the suspect shot at the officer.

“I would have died. I think that I’m lucky to be alive,” the 13-year-old said.

Police believe the shooting may be linked to on Tuesday.
