ANCHORAGE, Alaska—Scott Gomez did not disappoint in his return to the Alaska Aces.
According to the Anchorage Daily News (), Gomez scored the game-winning, power play goal Wednesday night in his first game back with the Aces.
The goal lifted the Aces to a 4-3 ECHL win over the Colorado Eagles.
Gomez also got a powerplay assist on the Aces’ first goal.
The win extended the Aces (9-4-0) winning streak to five games and snapped a five-game winning streak the Eagles (6-5-2) had coming into the opener of the three-game set that continues Friday.
Gomez is back for a second stint with the Aces. The veteran NHL center from Anchorage was the ECHL’s Most Valuable Player for the Aces during the NHL lockout of 2004-05.
