COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado Springs police say a man and boy are dead after being struck by a vehicle while they were trying to push a stalled van out of traffic.
The accident happened Monday afternoon at Pikes Peak Avenue and North Parkside Drive.
Police say the man, boy and a third person were pushing the van to the side of the road when they were hit from behind by an eastbound Dodge Durango. The man and boy died of their injuries. The third person and two people inside the van were taken to a hospital with what police described as minor to moderate injuries. The Dodge Durango driver wasn’t hurt.
Identities of those involved weren’t immediately released.
