COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado Springs police say two men suspected of stealing from a home during evacuations of the Waldo Canyon Fire have been arrested.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports Thursday ( ) that a tip led to the arrest of 31-year-old David Town. Investigators say they found items that were stolen from a house inside his apartment.
Police also arrested 19-year-old Alexis Mendez on suspicion of burglary.
Authorities say evidence links Mendez and Town to a single burglary, but that they are persons of interest in other burglaries during the fire evacuations.
The Waldo Canyon Fire erupted June 23 and went on to kill two people and damage or destroy 359 homes.
