Walk on the wild side
Here comes the Electric Safari in Colorado Springs, beginning Friday. 7. Stroll through the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to see hundreds of lighted trees, and more than 40 animated light sculptures. Open nightly from 5:30-8:30, the Electric Safari runs most evenings through Jan. 1, with select indoor animal exhibits open.
Sleigh ride
Enjoy a Santa Sleigh Ride in Durango at Rapp Corral, every evening Dec. 17-24. Each 15-minute ride ends with sparkling Christmas lights, a bonfire, piping hot chocolate and a gift from Santa. All sleigh rides depart at 5:15 p.m.. Tickets cost $25 per person.
It’s just research, honest
Take a Behind Swinging Doors Saloon Tour in Breckenridge, every Friday through Dec. 24. Learn about Breckenridge’s 18 saloons circa 1880, and sample spirits from Breckenridge Distillery. Tickets are $15, and all guests must be over 21. Tours begin at 5 p.m. Reservations required.
Chuckle party
Laugh it off at the Best of the Fest: Laff Fest in Aspen, Dec. 27. The town’s top three comedians from the Aspen Laff Festival perform at the Wheeler Opera House, for an evening of stand-up comedy. Show begins at 8:15 p.m., all tickets are $29.50.
