Colorado Gives Day 2012 raised a record $15 million for 1,258 nonprofit organizations — a 20 percent increase over 2011, when $12.4 million was received.
There were 68,000 donations made during the 24-hour appeal conducted through , ranging from the minimum $10 to $200,000. One donor gave $44,000 to 96 different charities.
“It was an incredible demonstration of support for Colorado nonprofits,” says Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of the sponsoring .
, serving abused and neglected children in the 18th Judicial District, and the each received a $200,000 donation. A third nonprofit received $100,000.
