Grandview, 2-0 to start the season, is the now atop the Class 5A girls basketball rankings.
The Wolves, who beat Denver East and Fort Collins, bumped up two places after former No. 1 Highlands Ranch went 4-2 to open the season and former No. 2 ThunderRidge went 2-2.
Arapahoe, one of ThunderRidge’s two losses, went from No. 10 to No. 2 in this week’s Denver Post coaches poll.
Regis Jesuit moved up on place to third, and Palmer went from seventh to fourth. Palmer beat Highlands Ranch on Dec. 5.
Cherry Creek, ThunderRidge’s other loss, jumped into the poll at No. 8. Also new this week are Rock Canyon (No. 9) and Ralston Valley (No 10). ThunderRidge dropped out.
The 4A poll also has a new No. 1 team in Broomfield. The Eagles are 3-0.
That ranking added one new team this week, Longmont, at eighth.
St. Mary’s took over 3A’s top spot this week, while Akron (2A) and Caliche (1A) remained atop their respective polls.
