Southern Hospitality Development Corp. said Tuesday that it plans to open its Memphis-style barbecue restaurant in January in downtown Denver.
The restaurant, co-created by Justin Timberlake and backed locally by one Republic frontman Ryan Tedder, will be three blocks from Coors Field in the St. Elmo Hotel at 1433 17th St.
The company said construction on the restaurant and bar continues.
“Our expansion into downtown Denver is an important milestone for Southern Hospitality,” said Southern Hospitality Development’s chief executive Steve Cominsky. “The Southern Hospitality concept is one we believe will resonate well here. LoDO is certain to be a great market for us.”
The company says the menu will contain a “classic collection” of southern favorites, including barbecue and the pub fare “one would expect from a local Memphis neighborhood restaurant.”
Southern Hospitality restaurants were created jointly by friends Eytan Sugarman, Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala.
The company expects the LoDo restaurant to be the first of 10 slated for development in key markets across the United States during the next three to five years.
