Tool fans get excited. The band announced via its web site in December that the group is “more than halfway done” writing the new album — we can only hope it actually drops this year.
Avenged Sevenfold – “TBA” (Summer 2013, Warner Bros.)
New ? Yes, please. Vocalist M. Shadows that the So Cal band’s new album will have a “Sabbath/Zeppelin feel to it.” Expect 2013 to be the year of AX7.
Five Finger Death Punch—“ TBA” (TBA)
After the insane success of 2011’s “American Capitalist,” how could you not be excited for a new album? Death Punch vocalist and Denver native Ivan Moody has shown off a growing artistic range on the past two albums, so there’s no telling what direction the band is taking with the new one.
Adelitas Way—“TBA” (TBA)
Las Vegas rockers put out hit after hit with 2011’s “Home School Valedictorian.” If 2013’s album is even half as good; this will be one of the best rock albums of the new year.
Volbeat—“TBA” (TBA)
The Danish metal band blew up on the rock and metal circuit after the release of “Beyond Heaven/Above Hell.” “Still Counting” and “Warrior’s Call” have been stuck in our heads since 2010 and we’re all ready for a new dose of .
A Day To Remember—“Common Courtesy” (TBA, Victory Records)
After the radio success of “All I Want,” have a ton of momentum going into 2013. Expect this album to have a solid mixture of heavy and hookey tracks to satisfy the hardcore ADTR followers and everyone else who jumped on the bandwagon in 2012. Check out the first single, “Violence (Enough is Enough)” off the album above.
Hollywood Undead—“ Notes from the Underground” (1/8, A&M/Octone/Universal)
After previewing this album it will be interesting to see how old-school fans react. “Notes from the Underground” is all over the map as far as mixing genres. By merging HU’s signature hip-hop style with hard rock and dance beats, it brings you back to the “Swan Song” era of HU. The lyric video for the album’s first track can be seen above.
Killswitch Engage—“Disarm The Descent” (4/2, Roadrunner)
The return of front man Jesse Leach to was arguably the greatest comeback story of 2012. The band had incredible synergy during its live shows throughout 2012, leaving us eager to hear what the band came up with in the studio.
Stone Sour—“The House of Gold & Bones: Part 2″ (TBA, Roadrunner)
Corey Taylor is a genius. Slipknot may have made him famous, but is keeping him relevant. Expect the new album to live up to his own insane standards.
Bullet for My Valentine—“Temper Temper” (2/12, RCA)
If the title track is any indication of the direction for ‘s forthcoming studio album, this will be one of the best metal albums of the year. Not to mention that the Welsh metal band is collaborating with Linkin Park’s producer on this one.
