“I never want to mislead our audience – I worried that some would think these were OutKast collaborations,” André 3000 . “These songs are not OutKast collaborations. I discussed this rationale with Big, Frank and T.I. and everyone agreed. That is why I was surprised to read about these remixes.”
Big Boi further stoked the flames of an OutKast that he would be working on a track for T.I.’s “Sorry” — which already featured A3K.
Neither André 3000 nor Big Boi were in the same room for the
“I was approached as a solo artist by both Frank Ocean & Tip,” André said in his statement. “I discussed musical direction with each artist and completed my verses. It was after that when Big Boi’s name came up.”
OutKastap last album, “Idlewild,” was released 2006. reunion isn’t out of the question, and that him and André remain best friends.
“We talk and communicate and we still come to each other’s homes, our kids play together,” Big Boi told HuffPost Live’s Alyona Minkovski. “When you’ve been doing music for so long together, you don’t have to be joined hip to hip. I know that’s what the world wants to see right now, but we’re just trying to do our own thing right now.”
