GOLDEN, Colo.—Hazardous material crews are trying to clean up a tanker truck hot oil spill following a traffic accident that left five people injured.
Authorities say the semi swerved into another lane, sending a vehicle into the frozen water in Clear Creek. The tanker flipped on its side and two other vehicles were caught in the crash.
Golden Fire Department spokeswoman Karlyn Tilley says oil leaked into the river and hardened as it hit the ice.
Hazardous material crews are working to clean up the oil spill.
