Denver Public Schools whittled a for an open seat on the board to nine at a special meeting Monday.
The finalists are Sean Bradley, Fred Franko, Taggart Hansen, MiDian Holmes, Antwan Jefferson, Vernon Jones Jr., Lisa Roy, Mary Sam and Landri Taylor.
The candidates are vying for the District 4 seat last month. Easley is set to become executive director of the Denver Scholarship Foundation in March.
He had served on the seven-member board since 2009. The northeast district includes the Montbello, Green Valley Ranch and Stapleton neighborhoods.
Easley was the subject of a in 2011,when he was president of the board, over alleged conflict of interest with his then-role as deputy director of the Denver Scholarship Foundation.
DPS Superintendent Tom Boasberg, who reports to the DPS board, is an ex-officio member of the .
The nine finalists will be interviewed Thursday from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The remaining board members must fill the seat by March 18, within 60 days of the vacancy.
The tenure will be a short one. Easley’s term expires in in November.
