Crystal Carnival
Crystal Carnival, a weekend that commemorates the original winter sports festival held in Leadville in 1986, takes place March 1-3. This family event offers a skijoring competition, a children’s parade and broomball games.
Free movies at planetarium
Each Friday night through May 3 the Zacheis Planetarium, located on the Adams State University campus, will host a movie night. Movies are free and open to the public, but tickets are required for entry and must be picked up at the ticket booth 30 minutes before each showing.
Dance with your Valentine
Celebrate Valentine’s Day Country Style in Trinidad on Saturday at the Mount Carmel Community Center. A $30 ticket gets you dinner and dancing, with music by DJ Mike Dardanes.
Burton boarding competition
The Burton U.S. Open will be Feb. 25-Mar. 2. in Vail. The world’s longest-running snowboarding competition will make its first appearance in Vail after 30 years on the East Coast.
