COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A Colorado Springs woman has been convicted of first-degree murder in a robbery that ended with two men shot, one fatally.
Frani Olivas wasn’t accused of pulling the trigger, but prosecutors said she helped plot a 2011 robbery at an Auto Zone store that led to the death of Joaquin Paniagua.
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette ( ), Olivas was convicted Thursday under the state’s felony murder statute, which applies when someone is killed during the commission of a felony. She faces life in prison without parole.
A co-defendant, Edward Coffey, admitted last year that he carried out the shootings when the robbery went bad. He has already been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
