BOULDER, Colo.—A judge has backed off from accepting plea deal for a 75-year-old Erie man accused of harassing two cyclists to give victims a chance to air their grievances.

James Ernst has agreed to plead guilty to harassment and improper use of a horn.

According to the Longmont Times-Call ( ), Boulder County Judge Noel Blum was surprised Thursday to learn the victims were not notified of the court date.

Two cyclists recorded a video of Ernst driving his SUV behind them in September while honking his horn. Cyclists say the incident highlights increasing tension between cyclists and motorists.
