Longmont police wore hazardous-materials gear Monday to investigate the death of a 6-year-old girl.

Cmdr. Tim Lewis said the cause appeared to be the flu or a similar virus. He said everything had been contained to the girl’s home and that the public was not in danger.

“We are taking universal precautions,” he said.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office identified the girl Monday afternoon as Lluvia Espinoza Morales.
