U.S. Bank announced that it donated more than $283,000 to Mile High United Way’s 2012 fundraising campaign through employee contributions and corporate gifts.

Ballard Spahr raised nearly $700,000 in its first firmwide United Way campaign, which drew contributions from its 13 offices, including Denver.

Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction received a $50,000 donation from the San Juan Healthcare Foundation to support the CMU Montrose campus.

• The Food Bank of the Rockies received a $27,600 grant from Wells Fargo Advisors to help provide food for Fighting Hunger Feeding Hope, the food bank’s main food-distribution program in Colorado and Wyoming.

Wells Fargo has made a $175,000 commitment to Colorado-based National Sports Center for the Disabled. The contribution will help fund the 38th annual Wells Fargo Ski Cup and other NSCD programs and events. Also, Wells Fargo team members will log more than 180 hours volunteering with the NSCD this year.

• Colorado’s green industry, a group of industry associations representing plant growers and landscapers, donated nearly $100,000 to Colorado State University for research in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture.

• Broomfield-based MWH Global recently donated $100,000 to Engineers Without Borders USA to support engineering projects in water supply, sanitation, energy access, sustainable agriculture and more.

North Elementary School in Brighton received a $25,000 grant from Clorox Co. to help fund school technology improvements. The grant was part of Clorox’s “Power a Bright Future” program.

San Luis Valley Energy Foundation, established by San Luis Valley Rural Electric Cooperative, recently made a $10,000 contribution to the Valley Food Bank Network.
