DENVER—Authorities are still trying to reach drivers stranded by poor visibility and snowdrifts following a storm that moved through Colorado.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday officers are still trying to reach motorists on the Eastern Plains who have called asking for help. Most are on side roads.

Ellicott fire officials reported rescuing around 20 drivers following Tuesday’s storm.

East of Colorado Springs, about 60 Miami-Yoder school district students were stuck at school because of hazardous road conditions, which prompted the closure of Colorado Highway 94 leading to the school. Superintendent Rick Walter told KUSA-TV that the children were having breakfast and watching movies Wednesday morning and would be returning home soon.

Authorities have reopened Interstate 70 after it was closed overnight from Aurora to the Kansas line.
