A young Colorado native named John Paul Uebbing was among the last babies kissed by Pope Benedict XVI during his time as pope.
John Paul is the son of the Catholic News Agency’s Rome news director, David Uebbing. Uebbing was managing editor of the Catholic News Agency in Denver until December.
“I do believe the baby was named for Pope John Paul II, so the kiss is a particularly touching symmetry,” said Kevin Jones, a CNA staff writer.
