DENVER—A federal jury has found former Aspen resident Montgomery Chitty guilty of drug charges following an investigation into a ring that distributed of hundreds of pounds of cocaine in Aspen over nearly a decade.
Chitty faces a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison. He will be sentenced May 28.
According to the Aspen Daily News ( ), three men testified that Chitty took over a cocaine ring after the arrest of Aspen resident Wayne Reid. The witnesses told jurors that Chitty bought and sold hundreds of pounds of cocaine from 2002 to 2010.
