Spotlight on Jonathan Toews: The talented Blackhawks captain was a 17-year-old North Dakota freshman when he first played in Denver, where his childhood idol, Joe Sakic, starred for the Avalanche. Toews, 24, is considered the next Sakic, a superstar on and off the ice. He entered Tuesday’s game with nine goals, 18 points and 19 penalty minutes, the last of those amassed mostly from two fights, including one with “Big” Joe Thornton of the San Jose Sharks.
