On a party-line vote, a Senate committee passed on Wednesday morning.

The bills — universal background checks, fees for background checks and a domestic violence ban expansion — were heard by the Senate Appropriations Committee because of the fiscal issues attached to each one.

The other four gun bills went straight to the Senate floor, where all seven bills will be heard in what is expected to a marathon hearing Friday.

The appropriations committee meeting moved the three bills quickly with little discussion.

Each bill passed on a 4-3 vote with Democrats.
