ASPEN, Colo.—A person on a hut trip south of Aspen had to be rescued when they became ill Tuesday.
The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office said emergency responders got a distress call from a personal locator that a group of five people in the area of Taylor Pass had an emergency and needed help.
According to the Aspen Times ( ), the group was on a multi-night hut trip visiting the Barnard Hut and Opas Hut in the mountains. The hikers were moved to the Barnard Hut until they could be brought out.
