Best-selling author Rob Bell, founding pastor of Mars Hill Bible Church, who lost his pulpit over theological differences with members, is scheduled to speak 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 9203 S. University Blvd. in Highlands Ranch.
Bell’s last New York Times bestseller, “Love Wins: For Teens,” in which he questioned the existence of hell, became so controversial it contributed to him losing his pulpit at Mars Hill.
Bell will talk about his new book, “What We Talk About When We Talk About God,” in which he challenges churches that describe a God that is mean, primitive, tribal and in conflict with science.
Tickets cost $15, or $10 for a student with ID.
