The Metro State men’s basketball team, the top seed in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional, plays second-seeded, 23-7 St. Mary’s (Texas) in the championship game at 7 p.m.
Tuesday at the Auraria Event Center. Senior Jonathan Morse, a graduate of Fairview High School, grabbed a team-high seven rebounds in the Roadrunners’ 66-60 semifinal victory over Midwestern State (Texas) on Sunday and became the first player in program history to tally 1,000 career rebounds.
A victory Tuesday would send Metro State (29-2) to the Elite Eight in Atlanta. The Roadrunners have won two national championships.
