If there were two movies that could sum up both parts of “Mirrors” video it would be “The Notebook” meets “Enter the Dragon.” Really it sounds a lot weirder until you actually watch the video, but the first half is the story of two lovers told using flashbacks/forwards of the couple through the decades. The second half is Justin Timberlake in a hall of mirrors — just like that final “Enter the Dragon” fight scene —, but with scantily clad clown women.
As for the song, “Mirrors” is JT’s big epic pop ballad from “The 20/20 Experience.” Kicking off with some very ‘N Sync-sounding vocals and an “I don’t want to lose you now” chorus, the track breaks down into something a little more bedroom R&B. It’s an interesting reflection between old JT and today’s JT. Probably has something to do with this mirror theme… Or maybe it’s just about some girl he really likes.
