DENVER—Gov. John Hickenlooper and Colorado lawmakers are taking time off Monday so they can attend a memorial service for Colorado Department of Corrections Chief Tom Clements.
The state prisons chief was gunned down at his home last Tuesday. A private funeral was held for him Sunday.
The governor’s office will open at 1 p.m. so the governor and his staff can travel to Colorado Springs for the service.
Lawmakers will also begin work later than usual on Monday The House and the Senate will convene at 1 p.m.
