PUEBLO WEST, Colo.—Pueblo County investigators say human remains found last week in a Pueblo West closet appear to be Native American.

Sheriff’s Capt. Jeff Teschner said foul play is not suspected. He said a preliminary report suggests the remains are archaeological.

According to the Pueblo Chieftain ( ), a family member was cleaning out the home when they found a box in a closet. Inside the box was a human skull and other bones.

The origin of the bones still is being investigated.
